Visit Cielo Tejido, A Woven Sky
A vibrant canopy of woven color now stretches above Giralda Plaza, transforming the downtown Coral Gables destination into an immersive open-air art experience. On display through July, Cielo Tejido invites visitors to stroll beneath a suspended tapestry of patterns and color while enjoying the plaza’s restaurants, cafés and boutiques. The installation creates a striking visual centerpiece within one of the city’s most popular pedestrian gathering spaces. Created by artisans from Etzatlán, Mexico in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Miami, Cielo Tejido blends traditional weaving craftsmanship with contemporary public art. Throughout the day, the overhead installation casts shifting shadows and bursts of color across the plaza, celebrating culture, community and shared public space. As the inaugural installation in the Giralda Sky Series, Cielo Tejido marks the beginning of a rotating public art program designed to reimagine the plaza through large-scale overhead displays. The series will continue in August with Giralda in Bloom: A Floral Canopy, featuring hundreds of suspended floral-patterned umbrellas overhead.
