The Real Plan Isn't Inside the Stadium: World Cup 2026 in Miami
Miami hosts 6 World Cup matches. Half of the city won't step foot in the stadium. Here's Plan B (which is really Plan A).
The Real Plan
Saudi Arabia vs. Uruguay kicks off the party on June 15. Did you want to buy tickets and now it's too late? Welcome to the club. But don't worry, the real plan isn't inside the stadium. Miami transforms during the World Cup, and you can be part of this celebration in every corner of the city.
Matches at Hard Rock Stadium
The dates are set: seven matches in total, including a much-anticipated quarterfinal and the third-place match. Hard Rock Stadium, officially known as Miami Stadium during the tournament, is the stage. If you still don't have your tickets and aren't ready to spend $500, let's focus on what's really happening outside.
Fan Festival at Bayfront Park
The true party is at Bayfront Park. From June 13 to July 5, the Fan Festival in the heart of Downtown Miami offers live broadcasts, concerts, and delicious local food. Free of charge. And that's just the beginning.
Bars and Restaurants to Watch the Matches
- Near the Stadium: Visit Shuckers Waterfront Bar & Grill for amazing seafood while watching the game.
- In Downtown: Stop by Black Market Miami and feel the crowd's energy as if you were in the stands.
Neighborhoods that Come Alive
Little Havana, Wynwood, and Brickell are vivid examples of living Miami. In Little Havana, find 47 people crammed around a questionable TV but filled with passion. Wynwood? There, murals come to life, and don't be surprised if you see your favorite artist having a beer around the corner.
Practical Tips for Locals
The June heat is relentless; dress light. Leave the car at home, traffic is a nightmare. Use the Brightline to Aventura and take advantage of the free shuttles.
And an uncomfortable but important tip: if you didn't buy tickets in 2024, it's too late to get them at a reasonable price. But, hey, the real Miami is outside, in its streets, in its bars, in the sense of community that only feels when a TV shows the game, and we all yell a goal in unison.
And Now, What?
How will you immerse yourself in this experience? Will you risk going to the stadium without a plan, or will you enjoy the unique vibe that only Miami can offer? The choice is yours.
